Wednesday's Opponents: Irlam
Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 7:00AM
Thanks to one of the worst footballing winters on record, a huge task awaits us in this month of March. The following nine matches in the space of four-and-a-half weeks will define our season; there's a lot to be won, a lot to be lost.
And it all starts this Wednesday when Irlam are the visitors. Currently in 5th spot with 29 points from 18 matches they'll be looking for the three points to maintain their touch with the leading pack. They'll also want some sort of revenge for the First Division Trophy quarter-final match at Silver Street a couple of weeks back where we ran out 3-2 winners after extra-time.
Over the 90 minutes of that match it could have gone either way, but that said it was plain to see that Irlam were still a decent side: they aren't 5th for nowt. What has let them down a bit has been their away form: won 3, drawn 3, lost 3; perhaps something that Cheadle can exploit.
So, here we go. Keep your eye on this website over the next month as the previews, match reports, round-ups and bits n' bats will be coming thick and fast.
Come on Cheadle!
Match report will be on here by midnight Wednesday
