Results Round-Up: Saturday 6th February 2010

Following the defeat at AFC Blackpool, our very own Cheadle Town have slipped another place to 12th with 17 points from 15 games. The win for the seasiders did wonders for them; they are now in 5th spot!

Shock result of the day came at Valerie Park where AFC Liverpool fell to a 0-1 home defeat at the hands of Rochdale Town. Stone Dominoes are still four points clear at the top but needed an 89th-minute goal to snatch a 2-2 draw at Oldham Borough. Leek CSOB are back in 2nd spot after their 3-2 win at Daisy Hill and Barnoldswick Town's 1-1 home draw with Irlam; those teams now in 3rd and 4th spot respectively.

Elsewhere, the result that did Cheadle the biggest favour was Chadderton's 1-1 home draw thus preventing them or their opponents overtaking us; Ashton Town continued to be upwardly mobile by claiming an impressive 4-2 win at Wigan Robin Park and Eccleshall and Holker Old Boys played out a 2-2 draw.

Finally, in the FA Vase the last remaining NWCFL representation bowed out as New Mills were defeated 0-2 at home to Norton & Stockton Ancients.
