FAQ > This Website > Why did you start this?
My friend Polardin and I started watching non-league football towards the end of the 2005-2006 season, attending a couple of Altrincham games as a supplementary to our usual Premiership teams.
Polardin wanted to experience life a bit lower down the footballing pyramid and so wanted to know if there was a football team a bit more local to where we were both living at the time. I had known about Cheadle Town FC for years as a relative of mine used to live on Councillor Lane (which virtually backs onto the ground) and had followed their results for years - without attending any matches - and so suggested them as our team of choice.
One idea led to another and we both decided to set up a way of sharing our experiences of following a team at the bottom rung of the footballing pyramid. I thought that a "blog" would be the best way and so the original Cheadle Town FC Blog was born way back in May 2006 with its first post detailing our 1-2 home defeat to Nelson.
And from that point on, the website has evolved!
