Weekend Round-Up
Both of the Division Two Trophy semi-finals are delicately poised going into the second legs.
Ashton Athletic drew 0-0 at home with Kirkham and Wesham and it took a goal seven minutes from time to give Chadderton a 1-0 advantage over Bootle.
In Div 2, New Mills have gone back to being twelve points clear after collecting a 1-0 away win at Blackpool Mechanics. Ashton Town kept Daisy Hill at the bottom by beating them 3-0 at home and Holker Old Boys continued their steady climb away from the foot of the table by hammering Darwen 4-0.
In the only other game of the day, Padiham were defeated 1-2 at home by Stone Dominoes.
The league table doesn't make good reading for our very own Cheadle Town. With our three point deduction sticking, Holker picking up form and our 1-2 defeat at Eccleshall, the situation is thus: 15th (fourth from bottom) with 17 points from 21 matches. Ugh!
