Weekend Round-Up
As you all know it was the quarter-finals of the Division Two Trophy over the weekend and, as our very own Cheadle Town bowed out at the hands of Chadderton, the current holders - New Mills - were knocked out after a 1-2 defeat at Bootle. I'm sure the Millers won't mind that much as they now concentrate on promotion....
Kirkham and Wesham's inaugural season in the NWCFL goes from good to better as they edged out Ashton Town by a single goal to nil. The snow got the better of the Oldham Town v Ashton Athletic tie which will now be played on Tuesday 12th.
The draw for the two-legged semi-finals is as follows:
Chadderton v Bootle
Oldham Town or Ashton Athletic v Kirkham and Wesham
There were a couple of Div 2 league matches and all. Daisy Hill and Padiham saw out a 1-1 draw whilst Norton United won The Potteries derby by beating Eccleshall 1-0.

hi
heard a few people talking after the game.TERRIBLE.
Heard also on the grapevine Carl's should be back for the game against Maine road. thats a bonus.
you heard anything more pole on this i thought he was out for the season? i suppose he would of been if we didnt have a back log of fixtures.
get him back onj the wing he has more pace than the lasd who been filling the void.
cheers
Blimey, three comments at once to deal with...! Right...
I think Steve was working on Saturday, hence the absence of Trevor's right-hand man against Chadderton.
You're right where Carl is concerned, and no, he hasn't left! I think the (ever-worsening) backlog of matches might actually mean that he gets to kick a ball before the season is out as he is our only natural left-winger - anybody else that has been filling in for him has been doing a grand job as it wouldn't be their natural position.
There's seven matches still to re-arrange before the last Saturday on April 26th. Plenty of opportunity for Carl to get himself back in action!
Hi
Carl with be back for the Maine Road game a week on Saturday.
Great news for us and Carl.
Hopefully because Carl has been out for a while it wont be to much for him to handle, because after Saturdays game, it looks like Carl will be starting as no doubt the suspensions for the players concerned will take effect.
It will be nice to have him back, i felt he was doing well before injury and agree with the fans who have left a comment that he has pace and skill which will trouble any defence in the league.
That is good news...especially as some suspensions will start kicking in!
