Midweek Round-Up

The match report from the Oldham Town match is underneath this post. Scroll down...

Including Cheadle's, there were six league matches played out over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Early days yet, but the race for promotion from Div 2 is proving to be as tight as a camel's arse in a sandstorm. New Mills (our oponents this Saturday) drew level on points with leaders Kirkham and Wesham with a 2-0 away win at Darwen. Norton United are just a point behind in 3rd place after their 2-1 away win at fellow Staffordshire-ites Eccleshall...and a point behind them are Ashton Athletic who drew 1-1 at home to 5th-placed Bootle.

After their win against us, Oldham Town have leapfrogged Chadderton into 6th place; Chaddy played out a 2-2 draw at Castleton Gabriels.

And last but certainly not least, get out the Moet & Chandon for Holker Old Boys who finally got their first league point on the board with a 1-1 draw at Blackpool Mechanics.

Our very own Cheadle Town are still in 13th place with 13 points from 11 games.
