Tomorrow's Opponents: Darwen

Oh, I've lost count of the number of times I've done the pre-amble to a Darwen fixture, only for it to fall by the wayside thanks to the weather. However, I'm quietly confident that Cheadle Town will get to play the only side that they haven't kicked a ball with yet this season; hailstones apart, the weather forecast for tomorrow looks okay. Good, as for some reason it seems like ages since the drubbing at Padiham.

Darwen, then. Every time I've done my weekend round-ups and looked at the tables, Darwen have always been there or thereabouts in the top five of the table. The fact that we find them in ninth as we go into this fixture owes much to the mid-table congestion but mainly to Darwen finding wins (and playable games!) hard to come by since New Year.

Regardless of Darwen's indifferent form, a tough enough fixture for Cheadle. A win for our lads could mean them reclaiming 12th spot and banishing the ghost of the most-recent result at Padiham. Come on Cheadle!
