Tomorrow's Opponents: Bootle
Now that I feel that I have exorcised the utter disappointment of Wednesday night, I can move on to tomorrow's tricky match at home to sixth-placed Bootle.
Cheadle managed to gain their first point away from home back in November when they drew 2-2 in the away fixture, a game that both Polardin and I missed for different reasons. Ironically, neither of us will be available for this one either, meaning that Bootle will be the only "other team" we won't see this season. No offense intended, Bootle...honestly. If you want to refer back to the post I did on them back in November, then click here.
After I texted him the result on Wednesday night, Polardin replied back with "where do Cheadle go from here?". Good question, and one I couldn't answer at the time. Looking at Cheadle's next three fixtures - against Bootle at home, a derby away to New Mills and then away to high-flying Eccleshall - a good start would be to prove to themselves that they're better than their 14th place would suggest and gather up a handful of points from these three fixtures.
Come on Cheadle!
